Basketball Tournament

On Wednesday October 7^th, after the initial disappointment of having the High 5’s tournament cancelled (owing to very poor weather), our basketball team, with a huge amount of enthusiasm, entered their first tournament of this academic year. The team, captained by Harry Squire, comprised of Tom Bushby, Tom Godfrey, Cameron Ryan, Charlotte Verrall, Natalia Berry, Finley McLear and Georgia Cutler. Our opponents were Clyst Hydon, the Duchy, Willowbank and St. Andrews. Despite an exceptionally stoic and perseverant fight against Clyst Hydon and the Duchy, we were defeated. We drew against St. Andrews (6 all) and we beat Willowbank school (22-12). Every single member of the team was amazingly behaved, supportive to each other and a huge asset to our school! Well done guys! Thank you to Jo McLear for her help with transport, her cheers and her encouragement. We will enter the next stage of the tournament in joint 3^rd place.
