About Us
Plymtree Church of England Primary School is a small rural school situated in the pretty, active village of Plymtree. We feel that Plymtree School is a very special place where everybody is valued and where we strive for excellence in all aspects of school life.
We aim to provide a supportive, happy and caring environment, where every child can gain in confidence and independence, and develop academically, artistically, physically and socially. The school is an important part of the local community.

We make use of many facilities, both locally and further afield to enhance the children’s education. We place importance on music and sport and provide a wide range of visits and visitors in a variety of curriculum areas.
The School has been awarded a Quality Assurance Mark, with Investors in Children endorsement, in recognition of the high quality of provision in the Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1.
Throughout their school life at Plymtree the children are encouraged to develop as responsible, polite and thoughtful people. We hope that through their formal studies and informal interactions with others, both in and around the school, they will grow to realise that they are able to play an important part in their ever expanding world.

Our aim at Plymtree is to enable all children to reach their potential and develop their talents to the full. For this to be achieved, a close partnership between home and school is very important.
We have a reputation for setting high standards of conduct and expect our pupils to show tolerance, consideration and support to each other and to the adults at the school.
Parents are always very welcome at Plymtree School, as helpers in the classroom, as visitors to school events and to discuss their children’s progress or problems at parents’ evenings and before or after school.

Healthy Eating
We have earned the Healthy Schools Award for our commitment to Personal, Social and Health Education, Citizenship, Emotional Health and Wellbeing, Healthy Eating, Safety and Physical Activity.
We have developed our school grounds to promote physical activity and social interaction; and our buildings to provide disabled access and improved library facilities.
The school caters for Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils. They are taught in mixed year group classes, which enables us to encourage children of differing abilities to work together, whilst still being able to work at their own ability level.

For two years in a row our school was awarded the School Achievement Award for achieving standards higher than those of similar schools. Receiving this national award has been pleasing recognition of the commitment and efforts of the whole staff at Plymtree School.
